Anthropic's latest AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, is now being integrated into GitHub Copilot, offering enhanced coding capabilities to GitHub's developer community. The model demonstrates superior performance on key benchmarks, including top scores on SWE-bench Verified and a 93.7% rating on HumanEval for Python function writing.

The integration enables developers to write production-ready code, debug with inline chat, generate comprehensive test suites, and receive contextual code explanations directly within Visual Studio Code and GitHub.com. Running on Amazon Bedrock, the service will be available to all GitHub Copilot Chat users and organizations through a phased rollout over the coming weeks.
